Many states have laws that allow patients to exempt themselves from vaccinations based on personal, philosophical, or religious beliefs. That way, parents who are wary of government-mandated vaccination schedules can make their own informed decisions about their family’s health.
But the Connecticut legislature is considering a set of bills, HB 7059, HB 6971, HB 6700, and HB7172, that would restrict the religious belief exemption for parents who don't want their children to be vaccinated, and mandate certain vaccines for school children and flu vaccines for health care providers.
We must not lose our freedom to make informed choices about vaccines. Contact your state legislators and tell them to preserve the religious belief exemption!
